Prospective...In 2001…Many history making events occurred that would impact this country as a whole. It was the year of survival, brotherhood, unity, and a Year of a new Baby Blue and Gold.
August 17, 2001 in Tallahassee, Florida, 4 men were making another kind of history...
"The Dream Started with five hard working and driven men"
Beginnings...
It was the year 2001 that 5 men made a lifetime dream come true. Kappa Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. was founded on August 17, 2001 in Tallahassee, FL by Five Kaptivating Black Men. The fraternity was started by D. Sean Benjamin and Rollen Scarboro but they were later joined by two others being Vermeil Haynes and John Manual. These men are the "Illustrious Elite" of Kappa Psi Kappa.
These men set out and started to organize the foundation of the fraternity based on promoting the high ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, Service and Leadership. It was then that Kappa Psi Kappa was Incorporated under the Articles of Incorporation in the State of Florida on October 3, 2001. During the last stages of organization, a small recruitment effort was executed. It was then that the 4 Illustrious Elite where joined by Robert Smith and completed the foundation of the fraternity and made the current 5 Illustrious Elite founders of Kappa Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. With the foundation complete, a Constitution to rule, a Ritual to initiate, Kappa Psi Kappa was truly ready for what was to come.
